Basically, it’s not so simple to find the right expressions for reporting from two different online English talks. One of them was not bad—a young man from Pakistan who spoke relatively good English. Unfortunately, the internet connection wasn’t the best one. It dropped sometimes, so we had to wait for reconnection. Additionally, the hollow sound influenced my understanding. He works as a kind of manager in the textile industry and said he has just a sufficiently good salary.
The second talk was one of the best I have had up to this time: a lady from France, Susie, now living with the family of her son in London, wants to improve her English for better communication with her daughter-in-law, who comes from Japan and speaks, besides Japanese, only English. Susie learned English in school, but claimed that she had lost all her recent competence. Of course, she surely spoke much better than me. The second talking partner, a young man from Uzbekistan, spoke very good English and worked as an English teacher.
Susie and I exchanged our emails, and I hope that she wants to stay in contact with me further.
My physical state today is not the best one. Ulrike and I strolled through the leisure settlement, about three kilometers, and I had a rather clumsy gait.
At noon we received the news that our nephew Holger passed away last night. It was not totally surprising because of his long and heavy illness. Still, we were deeply shocked. I think this could have influenced my physical condition
