Another role-playing game
Ah, hello. It’s quite a turnout, isn’t it?
Really a turnout. And the greatest turnout is to meet you here. Have you time to introduce me in one of your paintings? A lot of them are hanging here.
It’s very kind of you to say so. I’m flattered you’d like to be in one. While I don’t typically paint portraits anymore, I’d be happy to tell you about the paintings here.
Oh, that’s very nice, very friendly of you that you want to introduce me at some of your works hanging here. I know you are not a typically portrait painter and I like a lot of your abstract work. See on the left side, there’s one that’s a vibrating colors in it. That see it and please explain me what was your impression during painting it.
Ah, yes, “Vibrant Hues.” That one… well, I was trying to capture the feeling of a summer afternoon in my garden. The way the light seemed to dance between the flowers, you know? It’s less about the exact image and more about the emotion.
it’s interesting because I had a quite different emotion if I look for this picture. Uh I didn’t have a connection to flowers and garden. My I have connected it as with dancing people. But you see, there are no reality in the picture, only vibrating colors, only uh a different play of colors. And so everybody can interpret it as it as he like it. That’s what I like in your picture that all. It makes emotional feeling in different kinds.
That’s the beauty of art, isn’t it? It speaks to everyone differently. I’m glad it evokes something in you, even if it’s not what I originally intended. So, dancing people, you say?
It reminds me of saying, the art is not in the a of the painter, the art is in a in the eye of the observer. Is it is it so or have you another feeling for it? What’s your feeling? If you are an observer, not a painter. If you observe the pictures of other painters.
That’s a very insightful way to put it. I think there’s truth in both. As an observer, I find myself drawn to pieces that resonate with my own experiences, certainly.
And observer, as a painter is not quite the different observer as an observer, if I I’m not painter. I think you were more looking for the technique, more looking for the composition of the colors, not uh so looking for your own emotion. Am I right?
Well, it’s a bit of both, I think. Technique is crucial, of course. You need to know how to handle the brush and mix the colors to achieve the desired effect. But without emotion, it’s just craft, not art, don’t you think?
about your depression while thinking about painting, but I think you have another task here. Otherwise, I would like to have another look for the pictures on the right, if you have time of course, otherwise I could give you free for other other visitors here.
Yes, let’s keep the focus on the art. I’m happy to answer a few more questions if you have them, otherwise, enjoy the rest of the exhibit!
only one the focus on paintings or have you also focus or have you also some drawings. I’m not a specialist of drawings, but it sometimes tells me more about the painter if I see if I see some drawings from him.
I do have a few sketchbooks filled with drawings, but they’re not really for public consumption. They are mostly studies for paintings, a way of working through ideas.
Books are very interesting for me. If I’m too curious, if I ask you that you can show me some of them, if you have time, perhaps on another place, I don’t think you have some of them with you.
They are quite personal, but I appreciate your interest. Perhaps another time. Is there anything else I can tell you about the paintings here at the exhibit?
I think I look for another painting for myself and give you free for other visitors. I think there are a lot of them around of us which are similar to you to speak with you like me.
I understand. I am glad you enjoyed the exhibit. Have a good day.
