Yesterday was a break day. What does it mean? Simply stopping every activity related to English: no reading, no listening, no writing, no speaking. Ulrike came up with this. She meant that all learning processes should be interrupted to allow time for neurones and synopsis—for recreation and for reconstructing all the connections that had been stimulated.
Of course, today I was very curious about what had happened. A marvel? And suddenly I can understand and speak fluently? Certainly not. And basically, I didn’t believe in such disruptions anyway.
However, a hidden thought existed—that something marvelous could happen. From the beginning of November up to April—six months—I have constantly dealt with English, and during much of that time, I also thought in English. This feature has faded a bit, but I can recall it and restart it at any time. It’s just that this unconscious English thinking has dropped off a bit.
Now, I have to admit that my cold prevented to test all my new power by pausing English learning. Also, my physical exercises had to be diminished: only two short strolls yesterday and today, both with clumsy motions.
