After having breakfast, I started, as often, with ergobiking and some Feldenkrais exercises. During ergobiking, I tried to follow a video with listening training. These exercises are very interesting. I have to understand two short sentences as dialogues: a question or statement as the first one, and a suitable reaction after that. After the second or third repetition, the written form is given. You can try to read it aloud after you understand it, and finally, if the written form is given, you can repeat it. If you are quick, you can shadow the speech. The difficulties in understanding lie in the context-less representation.
After sports, I went for a walk. As every time, I asked myself how long I could stand it. Today, I managed the same distance as yesterday—three kilometers. In the beginning, I listened to a video about how to find motivation for training your English if you are exhausted or have no fun with English. After the video was finished, I spoke with myself to consolidate my lecture from yesterday about English learning with the help of ChatGPT. This trained me a little. My legs didn’t like it today, so I switched again to listening to a video about English grammar.
Before tea time and coffee time (my wife drinking coffee and I drinking tea), I did a role play with ChatGPT. I addressed him as my English teacher, meeting me for the first time, and he was supposed to lead an introductory talk with me. Unfortunately, he didn’t test me the way I would have liked but instead made me speak about my favorite hobbies. So, we ended up discussing books, and I had to tell him the content of the German book I am currently reading: Die Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull by Thomas Mann. I had great difficulties finding the right words to describe this book, but I succeeded a bit, even though it wasn’t very good.
