Steadily improving

This day began very well because, after a very nice night with only one interruption to go for peeing, which is very rare—I woke up at 8:15, very, very late for me. After this good start, unfortunately, I couldn’t study English before breakfast because I had slept too long.

After breakfast, I immediately began my physical exercises to stabilize my walking and strengthening my hips. During my exercises on my Ergo-Bike, I listened to a podcast about learning to speak English fluently. A very nice woman explained to me what I need to do to speak English fluently. That’s the reason why I am now freely recording my daily diary article, writing it by hand—meaning without typing, only with a pen—and then I will read it aloud for ChatGPT.

Unfortunately, I cannot dictate it using other software, like the one from Google or DeepL, because they are too sensitive and do not tolerate my poor pronunciation. ChatGPT is much smarter when it comes to understanding my English. I was very surprised to find that I could understand the woman’s speech better when I increased the speed of the audio. The problem seems to be that I forget the beginning of sentences and then lose track of the meaning by the end.

Yesterday, I forgot to mention that there was a breakthrough when listening to English without knowing before the content, without subtitles or pauses. Yes, while walking, I managed to understand very well what the speaker explained both yesterday and today. I agree that the speech was very well pronounced, and the vocabulary matched my knowledge.

Finally, I put here the map of my walk to be able to compare it with former days.

To evaluate my impressions: Walking and understanding English have reached a higher level, and this progress seems to happen in parallel.
